During her time at the University of Southampton, Catarina was actively involved in the Doctoral College, where she supported PhD researchers through training, engagement, and skills development initiatives. This experience shaped her interest in researcher development and career support. Catarina now works closely with scientists at different career stages, designing and delivering communication initiatives that engage diverse audiences. She also runs practical workshops on pitching and hands-on science communication, creating supportive spaces where researchers can build confidence and develop their voice.
