I am a Research Assistant Professor at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. After completing my Biology degree at the University of Porto, Portugal, I underwent a 9 month international internship at the IIT Research Institute in Chicago and that’s when I fell in love with Academia research. I then came back to Chicago to complete my PhD and Postdoctoral studies in the field of Biology and Cancer Research. Throughout my scientific career, I’ve applied to and received several grant awards and I have met several people with different research paths and experiences that helped me shape my own path. I’ve also completed several workshops in mentoring, grant writing, budgeting, time management and all these experiences and the people I met led me to where I am right now. It was during these workshops that I developed a keen interest in helping others build and succeed in their own career and the reason why I am now part of Chaperone! I will do my best to help guide you in whatever questions or needs you have.
