As a Career Advisor, I am passionate about helping students and early-career researchers navigate their career paths with confidence. Whether you are preparing a CV or a Motivation Letter, getting ready for an interview, exploring career options, or planning your next academic or professional step, I am here to help you identify your strengths and present them effectively.
I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and have conducted research in human genetics, neurodevelopment, stem cells, and gene editing, including at Harvard Medical School and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. In 2018, I was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship from the European Commission, which gave me first-hand experience of applying for competitive international opportunities.
Today, I work as a Science Communication Researcher and Coordinator at the University of Coimbra (IIIUC), where I develop public engagement initiatives and interdisciplinary projects that connect research with society. I am particularly interested in co-created science communication and in supporting students as they explore different career paths in and beyond academia.
Over the years, I have mentored students, coordinated international training programmes, led collaborative projects, and co-founded Brain Gain, an initiative dedicated to promoting neuroscience careers and making science more accessible.
I know that career decisions can sometimes feel overwhelming, and there is rarely a single “right” path. My goal is to provide practical guidance, honest feedback, and encouragement to help you make informed decisions and move forward with confidence.
I look forward to supporting you on your journey!
